The National Silence Orchestra emerged in the context of the 1st National Silence Days, an academic-artistic meeting that took place on April 20, 21 and 22, 2017 in the city of Córdoba. These Conferences promoted by the Chair of Composition of the Faculty of Arts of the National University of Córdoba joined in the organization the Center for Studies in Philosophy of Culture, the School of Arts of the National University of Quilmes and the Degree in Interpretation of the Faculty of Design and Art of the Provincial University of Córdoba. The objective was to set up a space for reflection around Silence and open a space to think about the place it assumes on various levels of our culture. The open call for papers and performances featured artists and researchers from different latitudes of our country. The proposal arises from a group of musician artists, but aims to generate a transdisciplinary debate on the matter that summons us. ONS was an initiative of the organization of the Conference on the thematic axis “silence in composition” and over time it was defined as Poetics of Silence.
