Paris, winter 1944. Full of green uniforms, gray mice and swastikas. No taxis, cigarettes, or sugar. No fuel for cars or coal to heat houses. So the desire. Faced with lack, the inevitable. The pristine drive that makes us be. In the darkest and coldest night, the man’s body exposes its wound in a gratuitous act without gain or certainty. A hotel. A group of individuals. Subjects exposed to hunger, cold and love. What happens at the crossroads of appetites, when desire overwhelms us, exceeds us and collides with another? What happens when they merge? Beings that inhabit their truth.

The Troop Theater

It is an independent theater group, a multidisciplinary creative space that proposes to put different languages ​​in continuous dialogue. That is why he incorporates photography, audiovisuals, performance, music and different languages ​​into his productions. One of his primary interests is the use of unconventional, public and open spaces for the realization of his works.

The Troop Theater was born from Nouvelle École, a French school created by Isabel Alvarellos. There, in addition to teaching the French language, emphasis is placed on the theater. Thus, it is proposed to work from readings of theoretical texts, essays and adaptations of plays written during the 20th century, originally in French.

The first experience as a group was in 2013 when it was adapted and represented Les mamelles de Tirésias by Guillaume d’Apollinaire. Then, in 2014 work was done on the adaptation and staging of Le désir atrappé par la queue by Pablo Picasso, both under the direction of Isabel Alvarellos. In August 2015 we carried out this proposal under the name of The Inevitable Gallop of Desire at the Museo Genaro Pérez. We performed five functions in the patio of this institution. This work proposes to inhabit unconventional spaces, in the open air, in which the theater space is updated allowing the staging, actors and public to be on the same plane.
